FITTINGS TAKEN
Metal fittings worth about $2OO have been stolen from the buildings which will be demolished on the town hall site between Cambridge Terrace and Kilmore Street. The thefts were discovered by the demolition contractor, Mr M. T. Jackson. Mr Jackson and his staff worked throughout the weekend removing fittings and salvaging anything of value. Copper and heavy lead pipe were taken and every lavatory cistern was stripped by the thieves, said Mr Jackson.
