Rattray tops scoring

The fast-breaking Y.M.CA forward, D. Rattray, was the highest scorer in the Canterbury A grade club basketball competition this year. He scored 217 points to comfortably beat the talented Old Boys and Canterbury representative, A Hounsell, by 32 points. K E. Williams (Y-Boys) was third with 163.

It is worthy of note that no member of the championship winning University side finished in the first eight J. Utley, with 113, was the best Rattray also had the honour of scoring the highest total in one game—3o. The next highest were K. Luxton (Old Boys) with 23 and R. O. Dew (Y-Boys) and Hounseil who both scored 22.

The top 10 scorers for the season were: Rattray 217, Hounseil 185, Williams 163, P. Lund-Jack-son (Rex) 150, Dew 142, Luxton 141, J. Edyvean (Old Maroons) 135, C. Morris (Y-Boys) 124, Utley 113, W. E. Smith (Old Maroons) 112. The only

others to reach a century were K. Ewings (Y-Boys), J. Culliford (University), R. Millard (Y.M.C.A.) and B. D. Watson (Burnham).
