TENDERS QUOTATION FOR PURCHASE OR HIRE OF PILE DRIVING EQUIPMENT THE WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD invites quotations for the under-mentioned items of pile driving equipment on the following alternative basis: A: PURCHASE: (1) One track mounted crawler crane, 70ft jib, rated at 19 tons for 22ft radius, or 18 tons at 15ft from edge of supporting structure. Stability constant through 360 degrees. (2) One single acting pile driving hammer, ram weight 8 tons, suitable for driving 20 inch square prestressed concrete piles. Complete with helmet and recommended spares. (3) One steam generator capable of evaporating 30001bs of water per hour, for driving single acting hammer. Generator to be mobile, preferably trailer mounted. N.B. ALL MACHINES TO BE THE STANDARD PRODUCTS OF REPUTABLE MANUFACTURERS B: HIRE OF PLANT: As an alternative to purchase the Board invites quotations from interested contractors for the hire of plant fulfilling the above functions. Plant to be used at the Board’s discretion and ’ quotations to Include for the following:— Provision of crane driver including wages and accommodation. Repair and maintenance of all equipment. Fuel and oil. It is estimated that plant will be required from mid-Novem-ber, 1968, for a period of four months minimum, six months maximum. Hire rates to be quoted on a weekly basis and to include for transport to site at Thorndon Quay and return.
