Freight Rates Increased
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 12. The Northern Steam Ship Company has announced in a circular freight rate increases of about 10 per cent on its conventional coastal services, to take effect next Monday. The company says the increases are due to rising labour costs and higher waterfront charges, and are necessary to make operations reasonably economic. The new rates will apply to all the company’s coastal services by the Seaway Princess.
