(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) SAIGON, September 10. A mother of six children has beaten 26 male candidates in a by-election for a seat in South Vietnam's House of Representatives. Mrs Tran Kim Thoa gained 9498 votes of a possible 115,244 to become the third woman in the 136-member House. The by-election, in one of Saigon’s three constituencies, was to fill the vacancy caused by the death last January of Mr Tran Van Ngan. The other two women members were elected during the last General Election, in October. Mrs Thoa, a former city council member, campaigned on a platform designed to improve the lot of the country’s millions of women peasant workers
