Van Beuzekom after five members of the family had received their certificates of New Zealand citizenship at the first naturalisation ceremony held in the Waipara County. The other members of the family to take the oath of allegiance, from left, are Peter (aged 19), Mrs Van Beuzekom, Tony (13), and Corrie (15). The other two children, Rita (4), and Bert (7), were already New Zealand citizens, having been born in this country. The five members of the family who took the oath came from Holland seven years ago.
