GAULLIST PLAN

Unionist Objects (N .Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copt/righl) PARIS, September 10. President de Gaulle faced a new challenge on the French labour front today over his plan to push ahead with worker participation in industry. The head- of the country’s largest trade union organisation, Mr Georges Seguy, said last night that the General’s reiteration at his press conference earlier in the day of his intention to introduce worker participation was an “offensive.” “We now know that one of the Head of State’s major preoccupations aims at frustrating the authority of trade unions in companies and in the country under the label of participation, profit sharing and consultation,” the secre-tary-general of the Commun-ist-led general Confederation of Workers declared. “Workers and their unions must draw the obvious conclusions to form a united front,” he said.
