ADDITIONAL FLIGHTS

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept 10. Pan American Airways will be allowed some additional flights to New Zealand for a trial period under an agreement reached between representatives of the Government, the airline, and the Central Aeronautics Board of America. Announcing this, the Minister of Civil Aviation (Mr Gordon) said Pan American would make four flights a week to New Zealand instead of three—but one flight instead of two across the Tasman.

“This agreement is a modification of the original Pan American proposal which would have doubled the frequency of its flights to New Zealand at a time when the demand for air travel is declining largely as a result of the economic conditions in the two countries,” he said.
