Enrolment is compulsory and failure to enrol is an offence under Section 79 Local Elections and Polls Act, 1966. Residents are therefore urged to ensure that their names are on the Roll. The names of Ratepayers are automatically included on the Roll but where there is joint ownership, the right to vote can only be exercised by the first named on the Valuation Roll —the other person or persons must enrol as residents if they reside in the County.
