Biology For U.E.

The biology textbook under preparation for the new prescription for University Entrance biology will not be available to schools until some time during 1969. This will delay the introduction of the new prescriptions in biology. The Education Department says the new prescription will be in force in 1968 and 1969 for certain approved- schools I and will come into force in 11971 for all schools.

The department hopes this year to supply all secondary schools teaching entrance biology with a xeroxed copy and make plain the emphasis and approach intended by the new prescription. In addition, it is planned to give* all schools a copy of some of the relevant practical exercises and teacher’s guide notes. This will enable teachers to familiarise themselves with the new course.
