T.A.B. Safety Discussed

(N.Z. Preu Association) WELLINGTON, Sept 4. The Government is not prepared to divulge details of the methods being taken by the Totalisator Agency Board and the police to protect agencies from armed robbers. But the Acting Minister of Internal Affairs (M* AdamsSchneider) told Dr A. M. Finlay (Lab., Waitakere) in Parliament today that the tightening of security methods to protect such agencies was being “actively prosecuted” by the police and the T.A.B.

Nothing would be gained from undertaking a special investigation into the security of T.A.B. premises while discussions between the police and the board were continuing, said Mr Adams-Schneider, adding that some new measures were already in force and others were still being investigated.
