Otago Team Weakened
Three of its most experienced players—F. Kennedy, T. Toleafua and P. Turnbull —have been forced to withdraw because of injuries from the Otago Rugby league team that will challenge Canterbury for the Northern Union Cup at the Show Grounds on Saturday. The Otago team includes two New Zealand Universities representatives, the fullback, I. Geary, and the standoff half, T. Patrick. It is.—Geary: K. Walton, B. Gibbs, P. Taouma (captain), D. Allomes; Patrick, W. Makaera; A. Walters; F. Sue Sue, R. Maaka: R. Hughes, S. Tauri, S. Morgan. Reserves: J. Airey, W. Walton. The coach will be Mr C. O’Connell and the manager, Mr C. Carr.
Athletics Match.—The Polish men’s team maintained Its unbeaten record against Britain by winning their two-day athletics match, 109 points to 01. on Monday. But in the women's match, Britain scored an easy 64-46 victory to level the overall result at 155 points each.
