Request Is Refused

A request by the Dunedin soccer club, St Kilda, to put back Its southern league soccer match against Shamrock next Saturday has been refused by the Southern League Committee. St Kilda asked for dispensation because it will have two players in the Otago senior team and two in the under-20 side for the interprovincial matches against Southland on the same day. The committee secretary, Mr M. Pahi, said last evening that the committee exercised its right in the list of priorities recently issued by the New Zealand Football Association, in which regional league fixtures are placed ahead of matches arranged by associations. “St Kilda has also been advised of its duties to fulfil league fixtures and the $5O bond it put up at the start of the season ensuring that it should do so,” said Mr Pahi.
