Fertiliser Dearer

Because of a substantial increase in the price of imported sulphur, Kempthorne, Prosser and Company’s New Zealand Drug Company, Ltd. has raised the prices of fertiliser mixtures containing sulphur by 20c to 50c a ton.

The new prices are (net price to farmers on trucks at Hornby in bulk): sulphur super (2001 b $28.50 a ton (up 20c): sulphur super (4001 b $32.10 (up 50c): lucerne mixture, $40.30 (up 25c).

Prices in bags are in each case $3.30 a ton higher.
