CHATHAMS CONVOY

Seven Trawlers For Lyttelton

A convoy of seven trawlers will leave the Chatham Islands for Lyttelton this week, according to the president of the New Zealand Federated Fishermen's Association (Mr D. J. Threadwell). Mr Threadwell will be flying back to his trawler Theseus in the Chathams today.

The convoy, said Mr Threadwell, would consist of the Picton (as lead ship), Theseus, Cavalier, Nimbus. Kotare, Kingfisher, and Cameron K, and will be under the command of Captain J. Gilroy.

Provided weather conditions are favourable, it is expected at Lyttelton by next week-end.

In reverse, the Lyttelton trawlers Snark and Kotuku will leave for the Chathams this week, and a third trawler, the 39ft Big Wave, is being carried aboard the Holmdale as deck cargo.
