Competitions Festival Ends At Ashburton

The last day of competition in the Ashburton Competitions Society's annual festival was held yesterday. The festival itand will conclude with a demonstration concert tonight. Jenette Mackie, of Christchurch. won the North Canterbury championship title for the Irish reel under 16 years with 89 points out of a possible 100. Runner-up was Heather Walker, of Invercargill, with 86 points, and an Ashburton girl. Glenda Hampton, was third with 85 points. Most of yesterday's events were in the dancing section.
