A. S. Paterson Trophy

The Canterbury indoor bowls team had an easy win over South Otago in the last A. S. Paterson Trophy challenge ot the season, having an unbeatable lead of 25-3 after the firstround matches. B. O. Stewart lost bi* firstround singles to B. McLachlan. 0-7. After being well down, Stewart fought back but could not make up the lost points on the last ends. G. L. Barnes proved his ability to fight back under pressure. Facing defeat with only two ends to play, he scored a two and a three to drew 0-all. C. R. Ward proved the Selectors’ faith in him when he won his first single* match by the big margin of 13-1 from I. Black. T. Austin played well all the time. P. Neo did not have a happy afternoon round, but at that stage the strain was off. Detailed Result*
