It is expected by mid-1970 to have occupied a 40-bed psychiatric unit at Wakari Hospital which la to be gazetted aa part of the Seacliff-Cherry Farm group. This should foster closer eo-ordlnatlon with the General Hospital. It Is hoped that the appointee will be anxious to prepare for the D.P.M. After two years service a Registrar may apply for a Health Department Bursary which would enable him to engage in eighteen months overseas study on full pay. Psychiatric experience at this hospital Is recognised as prerequisite experience for the Conjoint D.P.M. (England), while some staff have been granted time and facilities to enable them to prepare for the A.N.C.Z.P., D.P.M.
Junior Staff are given opportunities to assist senior staff at Outpatients Clinics conducted in conjunction with general hospitals in the district this hospital serves and to assist with instruction to Medical Students and Nurses. House, Fuel, Electricity, Leundry available at 8300 a year.
