Five Tries In 18-0 Win

(N.Z. Press Association! DUNEDIN. Scoring 12 points in the second half, six of them in the last three minutes, Wellington beat North Otago, 18-0, yesterday in the first representative Rugby match between these two provinces. The star of the match was Wellington’s centre threequarters, R. L. Gray, who made four of the breaks which led to tries. On a number of other occasions he had North Otago in trouble after sidestepping would-be tacklers.

Snappy back play by Wellington and weak tackling by North Otago were the contributing factors to Wellington’s big win. For Wellington, tries were scored by O. G. Stephens (2), W. J. Nicholls, G. A. Head, and L. L. D’Arcy. J. C. Leyman kicked a penalty.
