Check On Travellers

(N.Z.P.A. Stag Correspondent) LONDON, August 22. The Foreign Office has been asked by New Zealand representatives to give assistance to New Zealanders who may now be in Czechoslovakia. An official at the New Zealand High Commission said today that in situations such as that created by the Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia it was normal for British diplomatic staff to give help to New Zealanders it necesssary.

It was not known how many New Zealanders were In Eastern Europe but as the annual “continental pilgrimage” season for New Zealanders living in Britain was at its height there could be a large number.
