German Flag Taken
The Federal West German flag, with black, red and gold horizontal stripes, was taken from outside the Durham Street Art Gallery an Tuesday night
The organisers of the German Week exhibition in the gallery borrowed it from the German Embassy In Wellington. “It is not ours—and we want It back. We are still hoping that it was taken as a prank, and that we will get It back,” said one of the organisers. Mr A- R CottrellThe theft had been reported to the police, but if the flag wu returned to the gallery no questions would be asked, Mr Cottrell said.
