TELEVISION EQUIPMENT
Preparations For Colour (N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 20. The N.Z.B.C. was gradually replacing its television equipment with equipment capable of handling colour transmissions, the Minister of Broadcasting (Mr AdamsSchneider) said in Auckland today when opening the second national electronics convention.
He said the N.Z.B.C. was not moving into colour television immediately. “The microwave linking of television studios in the country, world coverage by satellites, and colour television will affect New Zealand television,” he said. “The advent of private enterprise and the corporation’s own expansion will create a demand for many millions of dollars worth of equipment in the future,” he said.
