SINKING OF MARANUI
Inquiry Next Month (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 20. A formal inquiry into the sinking of the coastal wheat ship Maranui, with the loss of the master and eight of the crew, will begin in Auckland at the end of September. The Minister of Marine (Mr Scott) said Mr A. A. Coates, S.M., would conduct the inquiry. The names of assessors to assist the Court would be announced in a few days. The Maranui foundered in a storm off the Coromandel Peninsula on June 13.
