Institutions Deposits Up
Financial institutions increased their deposits with dealers in the short-term money market sharply during July, says the Reserve Bank.
Their deposits rose $7.4m to $27.4m and compared with a fall in deposits of sl.sm to $30.4m by industrial and commercial firms and a similar drop to $10.2m by the “others” group. Total deposits rose $4.4m to $68.0m with new deposits accepted rising $22.1m to $55.9m on those for June.
