Vegetable And Fruit Prices
There was brisk demand for vegetables at th e Christchurch produce markets vesterday. The market was well supplied and prices were much the same as those of last week. Tomatoes selling at between 25c and 60c per lb were 6c per lb dearer and tamarillos increased by 50c a case when they fetched 53.56 a case.
Island water melons are due soon.
The official price range supplied by the Christchurch Fruit and Vegetable Wholesalers’ Association is:—

Lettuces.—s2 to $3.55 a case. Leeks —SI to $1.60 a case. Celery.—Utah. $1 to $2.40 a case. Spinach.—To $2 a dozen. Rhubarb.—s2.ss a dozen. Tomatoes.—2sc to 60c per lb. Grapefruit.—S2 to 13 a case. Tatnarillos.—To $3 56 a case. Chinese Gooseberries.—To 152.50 a case.
