New Theatre

The Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council has agreed in principle to use Mrs Sheilah Winn’s §300,000 to build a new theatre on the site of the present Downstage Theatre in Wellington. The chairman of the Arts Council (Mr R. S. V. Simpson) said the theatre would be built by a trust board and leased to Downstage.
