UNIVERSITY CONTEST

Winner From Canterbury "The Pre**" Special Sereice WELLINGTON, Aug. 18. Miss Gael McDougall, of Canterbury University, was last night crowned “Miss New Zealand University” at the New Zealand universities winter tournament ball in Wellington. Miss Geranda Hengney, of Otago, was second, and Miss Vicki Sinclair, of Massey, was third.

They were chosen from 11 finalists from New Zealand’s universities.

Miss McDougall is a French honours student who graduated with a bachelor of arts degree this yew. Next year she hopes for a scholarship to France or Switzerland, and aims to enter the Department of External Affairs or to lecture at university.
