Market Firm But Turnovers Low
Although not as buoyant as on Friday, the New Zealand sharemarket continued to be firm yesterday on lower turnovers and over a much narrower range of issues.
Leaders were easier overall, losing some of the large gains from last week. An ex. caption was N.Z. Steel, paid to 75c, which rose 6c to 140 c in active trading in Auckland.
company has sained a 1 per cent interest in a North Sea drilling venture, through an iSsue of 25,000 50c shares to United States interests. Skellerup continued firm, rising 10c to 660 c while Beechey and Underwood recovered 10c to 200 c.
New Zealand Petroleum continued to perform erratically, rising 30c to 350 c. The
