BID FOR SHIELD
Clarke As Reserve (N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM. The 1967 AH Black wing, P. H. Clarke, has been dropped from the Marlborough team to challenge Hawke's Bay for the Ranfurly Shield on Saturday. Clarke has been placed on the list of reserves, subject to a favourable medical report. His place has been taken by G. Blackmore.
The team is: L. Sparks: M. Avery. G. Blackmore: A. Mowat (vice-captain); J. Gleeson, K. Hodges; R. May; A. .Sutherland, R. Neal. R. Waiariki, R Sutherland, A. Schultz; J. Joseph, M. Bell, G. Lowe.
Reserves: Forwards, R. Jermyn, G. Timms: backs, R. Harvey, P. Clare or G. Avery, G. Rayner, K. Patchett.
