Brown, was unlucky when he finished second by a cyclelength in the 142-mile Grafton-Inverell Road classic on Sunday. The event was won by the only Tasmanian in the race, K Morgan, in 6hr 23min 21 sec. His time was 13min faster than the previous record. T. Savinake (Queensland) was third: Two seconds separated the first three placegetters.
