BUSY DAY

The Marist-Western Suburbs Rugby League forward, R. J. A. McKenzie, had an interesting and rather exhausting afternoon when the four teams eliminated from the championship met in friendly matches at Hornby Domain on Saturday . He played for MaristWestern Suburbs against Papanui until 10 minutes from time when, with. Papanui well ahead, he changed jerseys with the referee, Mr T. C. Houston, who took McKenzie’s place in the forwards.

After his brief experience as a senior referee McKenzie played for Sydenham against Hornby, two clubs that he had previously played for, and scored the first try in Sydenham’s 21-18 win over the Gore Cup finalist.
