RED HANDED IN TRIAL

(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A ) ADELAIDE. Last year’s Melbourne Cup winner. Red Handed, ran second to the brilliant V.R.C. Newmarket Handicap winner, Manihi, in a special exhibition trial over five furlongs at Victoria Park on Saturday. Manihi was easing up near the post, but Red Handed stretched out well to be close to him.

Boys' Golf.— Fifty-one golfers on single figure handicaps are included in the field of 90 for the New Zealand boys* golf championships, which begins at Rotorua on August 28. The defending champion is C. J. Smale, of Manawatu.
