Wives’ Programme At Conference
A special programme has been arranged to entertain wives of visitors to the conference of the New Zealand Dental Association, which will be opened by the Governor - General (Sir Arthur Porritt) at Ham this evening.
A women’s golf match will be held at the Russley course this morning, after which Mrs J. Le B. Warren, wife of the president of the association, will present the prizes. This evening visitors and their wives will attend the official opening, which will be followed by a presidential reception. A conference luncheon will be held by the Canterbury branch of the association at Ham tomorrow, after which visiting women will be taken to see a fashion parade, to be
presented by Beath and Company and Tonee Travel at the Russley Hotel. In the evening visitors will be entertained privately. A charter flight to Mount Cook and a scenic drive have been arranged for Wednes-
day. In the evening the Canterbury Repertory Theatre will present the play, “A Thousand Clowns,” for conference visitors and their wives.
On Thursday morning a visit to Lincoln College has been arranged and a conference ball will be held at the Winter Garden in the evening.
The programme has been arranged by a women’s committee in Christchurch, with Mrs J. W. Reed, wife of the president of the Canterbury branch of the association, as convener.
