Selector Dies
(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON. The convener of selectors for the Central Districts cricket team that won the Plunket Shield last season, Mr R. E. Frater, died at his home in Nelson on Saturday. He was the longest-serving selector for Central Districts since the association was formed 18 years ago. He was also associated with the Nelson 'team as sole selector during its record-breaking series of Hawke Cup wins. A former Auckland player, Mr Frater was a keen follower of many sports and became secretary of the Nelson Football Association last year.
