Eisenhower’s Condition

(N.Z.P-A .-Reuter—Copyright) WASHINGTON, August 18. General Dwight D. Eisenhower is still in a critical condition in the Walter Reed Hospital, Washington, and his wife, Mamie, is by his side. Although the latest hospital bulletin says the heart of the former President, who is 77, has become more stable after his fourth heart attack in just under four months, it emphasises that his condition was still grave. “But he is alert and Is resting more comfortably,” the bulletin says. An earlier bulletin had described General Eisenhower’s condition as “extremely critical.”
