New Task For Pearson

(N .Z .P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) MONTREAL, Aug. 18 The former Canadian Prime Minister (Mr Lester Pearson) has agreed to lead a major task force for the World Bank, according to the “Montreal Star.” The newspaper said Mr Pearson accepted the appointment during a meeting yesterday with the president of the World Bank (Mr Robert McNamara), who would announce the appointment on Monday. Under Mr Pearson’s leadership, a special commission of international experts in aid would be assigned to investigate the needs of the world’s “have-not” nations over the next several decades.
