The successful applicant will be required to take charge of young male offenders who have been sentenced to periodic detention at a work centre. Ages will vary from 17 to 21. Qualifications desired: A person of vitality and imagination is sought. He must be a strict disciplinarian when the occasion demands but also able to evoke a ready response from those in his charge. Overtime and penal rate allowance of $228 a year will be paid. The Warden’s wife will have a role and will be in charge of cooking and other domestic arrangements at the centre. She will be employed as a Matron on a part time basis. A selfcontained one bedroomed flat and separate accommodation for up to three teenage children will be provided at an assessed rental.
