CONVICTION OF PILOT
Plane Ran Out Of Fuel Wl. Press Association) HAMILTON, August 13. A Fletcher topdressing aircraft crashed at Waingaro, west of Huntly, in January after it ran out of fuel, it was said in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court yesterday. The pilot. Ronald Winston Woolford, aged 49, of Rukuhia, was convicted and discharged on a charge of neglecting to ensure that the aircraft carried the prescribed reserves of fuel. On another charge—of failing to ensure that his fuel supply was adequate for a particular flight— Woolford was discharged by Mr T. B. Mooney, S.M.
