French Too Strong For Queensland

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) BRISBANE. A second-string French team overran a demoralised Queensland side, 31-11, in a Rugby match at Brisbane yesterday.

The French backs, were too speedy for the Queenslanders and scored seven tries to one. They always looked dangerous when given room to move.

Time after time the French team swung the ball from side to side in devastating attacking moves. Although they were beaten 13-5 in scrums and were awarded only 10 penalties to Queensland's 19, the Frenchmen were by far superior over-all.

The stars of the match were the wing, A. Piazza, who scored three tries, and J. Salut, who played a brilliant allround game. The centres, C. Dourthe and J. Trillo, were also outstanding on attack. The winning margin could have been much greater except for dropped passes at vital times and a little bad luck.

The backing-up by the Frenchmen was splendid and it seemed they could pass the ball anywhere behind them and there would be a man to receive it

On the other hand, the Queenslanders put up a disappointing performance.
