Free Flight Field Day At Eyreton Highlight of a recent free flight field day. held by the Kaiapoi Model Aero Club at Eyreton. was a special attempt by P. Wheeler on the national aggregate record. Conditions were ideal and the longest distance the model, a Tomboy powered by a Mills .75. landed from the take-off was about 60 yards. There were nine flights, the best being 3min, and the shortest, 2min Usee. The average time on ground between flights was 46sec. and the final total 1451 seconds, bettered the former record by 140 sec. Results were: Hand launched glider: D. Broome 286. B. Turner 277, M. Comrie 522. M. Scott 213. Overhead conditions were very good but the ground surface was muddy and slippery for a ontrol line field day held at haiapoi. Results were; Aggregate: P. Wheeler 985, B.
