Fiat Announce Complete New Tractor Range
Fiat of Turin, Italy, has recently announced a complete new range of both wheel and crawler tractors for world markets in 1968. The New Zealand distributors of FIAT Tractors, Andrews and Beaven, Limited, will introduce the new models to Sales Staff and FIAT Tractor dealers at a week long convention and familiarisation course to be held in Christchurch during the first week of October. The new models are expected to be available to customers from mid-November. Information so far received on the 6 models (16 versions) of wheel tractors (from 25-95 h.p.) and the 5 crawler models (from 38 h.p.-65 h.p.), confirms a new engineering concept of standardisation both in engines and major [components throughout the entire range. This major advance will enable FIAT Tractors to be marketed at most competitive prices by the distributors and despite devaluation FIAT Tractors will compare more than [favourably with their main New Zealand competitors [throughout the entire horsepower range.
Since their introduction to the New Zealand market. FIAT Tractors have obtained a substantial share of the New Zealand tractor market. The new range of FIAT Tractors, wheel and crawler.
will have particular attraction for the fanner by virtue of their standardisation of parts which will enable maintenance costs to be kept to a minimum and spares to be readily available at competitive prices. Included in the new range are two large wheel tractors being offered for the first time in New Zealand. They are the 80 h.p. and 95 h.p. models which feature a 12 speed synchromesh gear box, and should prove a great boon to larger cultivating farmers and agricultural and general contractors.
The 45, 55 and 65 h.p. model wheel tractors will be of particular interest to all farmers. They will note with especial interest the advanced designs, incorporating a comprehensive range of gear speeds, technically advanced hydraulic control systems, along with ease of maintenance, added comfort and better balance for maximum stability. The improved small models will continue to find ready acceptance among orchardists and market gardeners where FIAT is now well established as the leader in the small tractor field. All models will be available in such versions as high clearance for crop work, dual traction (4 wheel drive) for hill or wet country, as well as narrow gauges for special 'applications. —Advt.
