(N .Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK The former heavy-weight boxing champion. Sonny Liston, was yesterday named “Fighter of the Month” by the Ring magazine and restored to its list of the top 10 fighters for the first time since November, 1965. He was rated in seventh place in the heavy-weight section after his recent knock out win over Henry Clark, champion of California, who entered the ring with a number nine rating. Clark has now dropped to tenth.
Liston has not been named “Fighter of the Month" by Ring magazine since his victories over Floyd Patterson in 1962 and 1963. He lost the world title to Cassius Clay.
