VICTIMS

The names of the seven persons killed in the fire on the Gothic were released late last night by Shaw Savill's manager for New Zealand, Mr M. J. Smith. They ./ere: Crew Daniel Mulcahy, fifth engineer. Paul Goldfinch, junior engineer. Edward Skelly, third electrician. Passengers John Halliday, his wife, Eileen, and their two sons, Alan, aged 11 and David, aged seven, of Motuhara Road, Plimmerton, Wellington. Mr Smith said the crewmen were all from the United Kingdom. The Halliday family was travelling as supernumerary passengers. Mr Halliday worked for Shaw Savill in London for several years and he and his family emigrated to New Zealand in 1963.
