STUDENTS IN FLATS
Doubling Of Number (N.g. Press association? DUNEDIN, July 23. The number of single Otago University students living in flats has almost doubled since 1963—from 778 to 1460. This year the number living in flats is 31.6 per cent of the total roll of 4616. In 1963, 25.7 per cent lived in flats.
This year 964 students are living in colleges and halls, 390 in private board, 1050 at their parents’ homes; 573 are married students in rented homes and 179 have other accommodation, which includes convents, the Y.W.C.A. and nurses’ homes.
Saif Play-off.—J. Cockin (Britain) won the Dutch Open golf championship at Hilversum after a "sudden-death" play-off against the Australian, R. Shaw, and A. Gallardo (Spain). They were level on 292 after 72 holes.
