Bequests For Research

Trustees of the Robert McClelland Trust have authorised a grant of $lBOO for research into the cause and cure of cancer.

It was reported at yesterday’s meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital Board that of this amount, $llOO will be allocated to the medical renal unit, Christchurch Hospital, and $7OO to the medical unit at Princess Margaret Hospital. Approval was also given Dr D. R. Hay to spend $978 from the L. J. Bettridge bequest on equipment for the cardiac investigation unit. This conforms to the terms of the bequest and is the first purchase from the original total of $2927.
