Golf Club’s Support

The Templeton Country Golf Club has made a generous gesture—and one other clubs might well follow —in staging a mixed open tournament on -Saturday for the benefit of the Canterbury Junior Golfing Society. Templeton has given its

course free of charge, and all the proceeds from the tournament will be given to the society. They should be quite considerable, for there is a field of 198 players. As the golfers will go off in sixes, and the event is a Canadian foursome, traffic jams are unlikely. The society has already done much to raise the standard of junior golf, particularly with its inter-provincial and inter-island matches, and it deserves the support of golfers generally. The field for Templeton reflects interest in the society; it includes a large proportion of the province’s leading players.
