Nikolic, the 19-year-•ld European champion from Jugoslavia, showed her gold medal potential for the coming Olympic Games when she clipped half-a-second off the women’s 800 metres world record on Saturday. Miss Nikolic, the world recordholder for the 880 yards, clocked 2min o.ssec to beat the previous mark set by Miss J. Pollock (Australia), in Helsinki last vear. Miss Nikolic was competing in the British women’s championships.
