Beard, both had twoover par 72s in the third round of the United States professional golf championship on Saturday, but still managed to increase their lead With 54-hole totals of 210, they are two strokes ahead. Fleckman. a newcomer to the professional circuit. had earlier rounds of 66 and 72, while Beard had 68 and 70. Seven players were bunched at 212, including D. Sanders, who was only one stroke behind the leaders after the second round. He carded a 73 to go with previous rounds of 72 and 67. Others bracketed at 212 were the New Zealander. R. J. Charles and the Americans, M. Barber. J. Boros. A. Palmer, L. Trevino and R. Rhyan. Charles, leading the overseas entries, carded a 70 on Saturday to go with previous rounds of 72 and 70. z
