Comfort In Disaster
Sir, —As a student of the Bible I have given some thought to recent disasters and have listened in vain for words of comfort and guidance from the various church broadcasts. May I therefore
recommend to those concerned, whether their interest be from a godly, Christian or humanitarian point of view, a book by the Dutch author, Jan .de Hartog, titled "The Little Ark.” The Biblical reference on page 181 may be found n 1 Thessalonians, chapters 5 and 4, in that order. It is ample proof that in this age, which is given to experiment and destruction rather than healing and creation, the age of miracles is not past; that those who seek understanding will be given understanding, not necessarily through the church or even the Bible itself, but from the most unexpected places.—Yours, etc., D. C. McKIE. Sefton, July 18, 1968.
