Beer Shortage
Sir, —“Browbeaten Boozers’ ” bunt at the beer barons boosts him for a boot into the “booai” if his tilts at the thrifty thirst-quenchers should tempt them to turn off the taps. He should do what other “valued” patrons do when they discover that the hand of friendship dispensing the beer hides the mailed fist: change his pub. This may be inconvenient, and he may make almost a complete circle of the hostelries before he finds one virtually not on the streets, but at least the supply lines won’t be cut.— Yours, etc., NEMO. July 18. 1968.
